Sable is an owner surrender by an elderly gentleman who had to part with Sable and two other adult dogs because he was going to a nursing home. When he told us that Sable was a lab/basset mix, you just have to - well, say ok. Her fur is very thick and slightly coarse. She did test positive for heartworms. So the patches you see on her side are from her heartworm treatment which she came thru with absolutely no problems. Just that the fur is growing back very slowly. She is not an in your face type of dog however she still enjoys attention. She seems to have the personality of a cat. She is ok with other dogs however she does tend to mind her own business. She is a laid back, quiet young lady. She is around 4 1/2 years old giving her the birthday of 1/15/10. She weighs about 45 lbs. and could lose a little weight.
